Youth charged over alley attack

A teenager has been charged with attempted murder after a man was left unconscious with life-threatening head injuries in a Bournemouth alleyway.

Nicolas Verron, 25, from Bournemouth, was attacked in Roumelia Lane, Boscombe, early on Saturday morning.

A 17-year-old appeared at Bournemouth Magistrates Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody. He is due before Poole Youth Court on Thursday.

Mr Verron is in a critical condition at Southampton General Hospital.

Police had been looking for a group of about six to eight youths seen in the area at the time of the attack.
