Youths sought over alley attack

Up to eight youths are being sought after a 25-year-old man was left unconscious with life-threatening head injuries in a Bournemouth alleyway.

A group of around six to eight youths were seen in the area at the time of the attack in Roumelia Lane, Boscombe, in the early hours of Saturday.

Police said one of the youths was on a bicycle. The group later went towards Hawkwood Road, a spokesman said.

The victim remains in the neurological unit at Southampton General Hospital.

Part of the lane was sealed off on Saturday to allow crime scene investigators to examine the area.

Det Sgt Garry Knight: "This man is in a very serious condition and any information, no matter how insignificant you may believe it to be, could prove vital to my investigation."
