One man rescued from fire in flat

One man had to be rescued and another 15 people were led to safety after a fire broke out in a block of flats in Bournemouth on Monday night.

Fire crews were called to the building, in Montgomery Avenue, West Howe, after reports of smoke billowing out.

Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said it was thought to have been caused by unattended food on a cooker.

A spokeswoman said the damage to the flat was minimal. No-one has suffered serious injuries.
