Woman denies blocking ambulance

Gillian Birdsall
Ms Birdsall is on bail and will face trial on 12 March

A woman has appeared in court charged with obstructing an ambulance on an emergency call-out to a man who later died in hospital.

Gillian Birdsall, 49, of Malvern Road, Bournemouth, is alleged to have parked her car and blocked in an ambulance near her home on 31 October 2008.

A crew was attending to a heart attack victim, also of Malvern Road.

At Bournemouth Magistrates' Court, she denied causing an obstruction while paramedics were on duty.

The patient died shortly after arriving at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

Ms Birdsall remains on conditional bail until her trial on 12 March at Bournemouth Magistrates' Court.
