Police want to hear from anyone who knows of a BMW being abandoned

Police investigating a stabbing at a house after a man and his girlfriend were tied up have released a picture of a car that was stolen.

The man, 26, was tied up and stabbed by a gang of three burglars at the home in River Way, Christchurch, Dorset.

The men entered his house on 13 December and attacked him. His girlfriend, 23, was tied up but unhurt.

The stolen car was a black BMW M3. Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen it abandoned.

'Unusual circumstances'

Officers are also are keen to trace three bladed weapons - a bill hook and two knives - recovered from the property.

Det Sgt Mark Fossey, of Ferndown CID, said: "I would like to hear from anyone who knows of any similar vehicle that may have been abandoned or of anyone who has come into possession of a black BMW M3 in unusual circumstances since Saturday, 13 December."

The victim was treated in Poole Hospital for two stab wounds to his arms, a cut to the face and one cut on the back of his right hand.

Two of the three attackers were white and wore dark clothing.

The third attacker was black and also wore dark clothes.
