Woman held over bungalow deaths

Police were alerted by concerned friends and neighbours

A 52-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an elderly couple were found dead at a bungalow in Dorset.

Officers found the bodies of a man in his 80s and a woman in her 70s in the property in Uplands Road, Charminster, Bournemouth, on Friday night.

A woman found in the bungalow with serious injuries is being treated in hospital.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

A spokeswoman said officers visited the premises following calls from concerned friends and neighbours.

Post-mortem examinations are due to take place at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester later.

Forensic investigators have been examining the scene for much of the day.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
