Tributes have been paid to a motorcyclist "who was loved by all" after he died in a collision with a petrol tanker in Dorset.

Paul Terry, 43, of Wimborne, was riding his Yamaha bike along the A31 in Corfe Mullen before the crash on Saturday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The 68-year-old tanker driver was unhurt.

Mr Terry was due to celebrate his engagement to fiance Jane Cranham on the day of the accident.

She said: "Paul was the life and soul of any party and could light up a room with his smile.

'Lived dream'

"We were very much in love and we are all devastated by tragedy, he was such a wonderful man."

His mother Doreen Terry added: "Paul was loved by all. He lived his dream of riding his motorcycle with his fellow 'bike buddies.'

"From the huge number of people who have contacted me since the accident we have been amazed at how many lives Paul had touched."

Mr Terry had been employed as an installation engineer by Warmer Homes in Ferndown for several years.

Police appealed for witnesses to the crash.
