Six rescued after boat capsizes

Six people and a dog were rescued from the water after their boat capsized off the Dorset coast.

The vessel toppled over in the Run off Mudeford late on Sunday night, probably due to overloading, the RNLI said.

The three adults, three children and dog onboard were all pulled to safety by members of the public.

None of them had life jackets with them and were "lucky to escape unharmed", an RNLI spokeswoman added.

The waters of Mudeford Run at this time are very fast and can be extremely dangerous, the RNLI warned.
