Man's body found after flat blaze

The body of a man has been found following a fire at a flat in Dorset.

Three fire crews were called to a blaze at a bedsit in Victoria Road, Upper Parkstone, Poole, at 0125 BST.

The first floor property was completely destroyed in the blaze and eight flats had to be evacuated. The body of a man, aged in his 30s, was also found.

Dorset Police said they were not treating the death as suspicious but have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.

A spokesman for Dorset Fire and Rescue said they would remain at the property on Friday and would be reassuring local people.
