A teenager has been missing from a west Dorset town for five days, prompting fears for his welfare.

Dominic Maynard, 19, of Bridport, was last seen at on Saturday night when he dropped his girlfriend off at her home in the Wyke Regis area of Weymouth.

Police said his family have not heard from him since but his father found his car in Bournemouth on Monday.

Officers have appealed for anyone who knows of Mr Maynard's whereabouts to get in touch.

Sgt Steve Hughes said: "Shortly before he left home in his car on Saturday evening Dominic had a disagreement with his mum about his girlfriend and his parents are now at pains to explain that he's done nothing wrong.

"They are desperate to hear from him to make sure he's safe and well.

"Dominic's father found his son's car - a black Renault - on Monday afternoon in the Durley Road car park in Bournemouth.

"Dominic has never done anything like this before and so I'd urge him to please make contact with his parents, or the police, so we can all be sure that he's safe and well and no harm has befallen him."
