Views sought on access to coast

The survey will help shape future management of the coastal area
Visitors to Dorset's Jurassic coastline are being asked to air their views on the area.

Dorset Coast Forum is hoping to find out how useful the transport links and footpaths are and what types of signs and information are most helpful.

The survey will provide valuable information to shape future management of coastal paths and transport links.

Participants are being recruited on the beaches this month and the survey can also be accessed online.

Identifying barriers

Jodie McGregor, from Dorset Coast Forum, said: "Essential information is needed from users of the coast to consider their particular needs, such as what information they would like to see on signs along the coast and what facilities they use.

"We particularly want to find out what barriers exist that stop people from being able to fully enjoy our coastal landscapes."

The survey is part of a new Coastal Corridor Action Plan being developed by the Dorset and East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Partnerships, the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Team, Dorset Countryside, Dorset Coast Forum, National Trust, Natural England and South West Coast Path Team.
