A dog has been rescued in Bournemouth after being found hanging out of an open bedroom window by neighbours.
Tess, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was home alone when she fell. She was left hanging by her hips, jammed in the partially-open window of the house.
Neighbours stopped the dog from falling any further by climbing a ladder and holding on to her as they waited for a fire crew to arrive and free her.
The lunchtime ordeal left Tess unhappy but uninjured, fire officers said.
Fire officers said even though the incident was unusual, the watch team on duty had dealt with trapped dogs before.
Dave Arundel, watch manager for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service, told BBC News: "We do get stuff like this, we had a young dog who had put it's head through the hole for a tumble dryer hose, but generally speaking the RSPCA respond.
"A cat on a roof, if left long enough, will get away, but a stuck dog is different."
