Cheap homes for first-time buyers
Low income families are set to be offered help to get onto the housing ladder as 82 shared ownership homes are released onto the market.

The project in Poole allows first-time buyers to purchase 50% of the property with a mortgage, while renting half from the housing association.

Authorities say the minimum household income needed is £16,000.

Those interested in the scheme should ensure they are listed on the borough's housing register.

There are 32 apartments for sale at Harbour Sail in West Quay Road and 50 houses and flats for sale at the Eco Village development at Seldown Park.

Councillor Mike White, cabinet member for housing, said: "We all know that getting a foot on the property ladder is difficult for many households in Poole and so we are particularly proud to have developed these new shared ownership properties with housing associations."

A further 120 units are expected to be released across a two-year development programme.
