Forensic officers are to carry out a fingertip search on the hard shoulder and verge of the M27 in Hampshire after a man was killed in a hit-and-run.
Police frogmen will also be searching rivers and streams at Broadlands Lakes, which run alongside the motorway.
Lane one eastbound will be shut between junctions two and three while the search takes place on Friday morning.
Yichuan Tan, 24, from Dorset, was killed when the Skoda he was travelling in was hit by a BMW that did not stop.
Front seat passenger
The Skoda plunged over the 40ft (12m) motorway embankment, where it collided with trees and overturned.
The 41-year-old driver of the Skoda, in which Mr Tan was a front seat passenger, was injured in the crash near Ower on 9 July.
The driver, also from Dorset, is being treated in Southampton General Hospital, where his condition is described as stable and not life-threatening.
Police are hunting the driver of the dark-coloured BMW, which they believe was travelling at speed.
Mr Tan, from the Hunan Province in China, had been living in Poole. His family have been told of his death and are coming to England.
