Free bus replaces closed centre
A free park-and-ride scheme is opening in Bournemouth to help deal with extra demand for parking spaces following the closure of the Castlepoint Centre.

The weekend service is run by the borough council but town centre retailers are contributing to the cost.

Parking will be at Kings Park on 10 and 11 December, and at Cotlands Road on 17, 18 and 24 December.

A free-of-charge shuttle bus will run shoppers in to the town centre and back every ten minutes.

Health and safety issues with the 3,000-space car park at the Castlepoint Centre in Bournemouth forced the closure of the entire centre last week.

But managers have said they hope to start a phased reopening of the car park on the 19 December.
