Coastguards say this illustrates the danger of cliffs
A four-year-old girl from Kent who became trapped in a crevice after falling 17 feet down a cliff in Dorset has been released from hospital.

Millie Hetherington was playing on rocks with two young family friends when she vanished on Good Friday.

Her father, Ian Hetherington, 31, of Tunbridge Wells, ran to Portland Bill's visitor centre to raise the alarm.

The coastguard helicopter was unable to pull her out, and a cliff rescue team had to be called to help.

A Portland Coastguard spokesman said she suffered minor head injuries, but was otherwise unharmed.

She was airlifted to the Dorset County Hospital with her father and her two friends.

She was later given the all clear.

"This incident does highlight the danger of cliff edges," said Watch Manager Bruce Lack.

"We would like to warn parents to be aware of the whereabouts of their child at all times as this incident could have had far more serious consequences."
