Animal rights demo at laboratory
Protester at Wickham demonstration
Protesters called for the laboratory to be closed down
Up to 250 animal rights campaigners have held a protest outside an animal testing laboratory.

They marched through the village of Wickham in Hampshire, calling for an end to tests on mice and other animals at Wickham Laboratories.

In a statement, the laboratory said: "Today's protest is just another challenge to our life-saving work."

In April, Keith Mann, 38, from Poole, Dorset, was convicted of a plot to steal hundreds of mice from the lab.

Speaking at Saturday's march, a protester said: "Animal experimentation is bad science. We've got to get rid of it and replace it with good science."

The event has been held annually for 20 years, but has grown steadily in size recently, according to organisers.
