A toddler who suffered severe head injuries when a car he was in was in a collision as it crossed a country A-road is recovering in hospital.
The boy, three, and his brother, six, were being driven by their grandmother, 63, in a blue BMW across the westbound carriageway of the A30 in Dorset.
The BMW was hit at Babylon Hill, near Sherborne, by a Vauxhall Cavalier.
Its female driver, 29, from Henstridge, and her 17-year-old male passenger were also taken to hospital on Tuesday.
A spokesman from Dorset Police said: "The three-year-old has now been transferred from Yeovil Hospital to the paediatric intensive care unit at Bristol Children's Hospital.
"His condition is said to be improving."
The youngster's grandmother, from East Coker, Somerset, and her other grandson, from Weston Super Mare, suffered slight injuries in the crash at 1300 BST.
The A30 was closed for several hours while police examined the scene.
