Siege man held after baby freed
A 42-year-old has been arrested after a siege in which a man allegedly held a 20-month-old baby girl on the roof of a Dorset house, before handing her over.

Police say officers outside an address in Crane Moor Close, Christchurch, were pelted with tiles as they negotiated with a man for 12 hours on Monday.

After they put a fire ladder against a window, he gave himself up at 0200 BST.

The girl was checked by medics and reunited with her mother, who escaped from the house earlier, police said.
