Brixham mother accused of murdering baby boy

The mother of a 10-day-old baby boy has appeared in court charged with his murder.

Kate Norris, 30, of Pine Close, Brixham, appeared before Torquay magistrates charged with murdering Leo Norris. She was remanded in custody.

Emergency services were called to Pine Close on Tuesday morning after receiving reports that a baby had stopped breathing.

Leo was taken to Torbay Hospital but he was later pronounced dead.

Ms Norris was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of murder and was later charged by Devon and Cornwall Police.

She is due to appear at Exeter Crown Court on 23 April.
