Plymouth dispersal order to fight anti-social behaviour

A dispersal order has been granted for the Mount Wise and Devonport areas of Plymouth in a bid to tackle anti-social behaviour, the city council said.

Problems with youths drinking, noise, abusive language and vandalism have been on the rise since the end of 2009, the council said.

The order is due to run from 17 May until 7 November and is being supported by local residents and businesses.

The last dispersal order covering Mount Wise ended in November 2008.

Dispersal orders allow police to move people from an area when they are deemed to be causing a nuisance.
