North Devon farm worker killed in hay bale accident

A man has died in a farm accident in north Devon.

Emergency services were called to the farm in the Pyworthy area, near Holsworthy, on Thursday evening.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the 40-year-old local man is believed to have died when a bale of hay fell on him from a digger he was working on.

An investigation has been carried out at the farm and the matter has been referred to the Health and Safety Executive.
