Devon Air Ambulance
Devon Air Ambulance said it was "saddened" by the theft

Thieves had taken hundreds of pounds of charity money much of it for the Devon Air Ambulance, in a raid on a pub.

Collections for Christmas were also stolen, estimated to be about £800, from The Globe Inn at Beaford, near Winkleigh.

Bottles of Gordons Gin, Smirnoff Vodka and Bells Whisky worth about £150 were also taken.

Police are also investigating a raid on the Barnstaple Inn in South Molton on the same night.

Detectives are still investigating any links between the crimes and are appealing for information.

Caroline Creer of Devon Air Ambulance said: "We are always saddened when things like this happen.

"People give to charity in good faith in all sorts of different ways and for us, as an independent organisation, every penny counts."
