Crash pair critical in hospital

Two people suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision

Two people are in a critical condition in hospital following a road accident in Devon.

Police closed the A380 at Kingskerswell for eight hours after a Mazda was involved in a collision with a Ford at 0640 GMT.

A man and a woman who were in the Ford suffered life-threatening head injuries in the crash.

A man who was in the Mazda suffered serious neck and chest injuries. All three people are from the Torbay area.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened on the stretch of road between Newton Abbot and Torquay.
