Man accused of attacks on girls

A Devon man has been charged with sexually assaulting young girls under the age of 16.

The offences, which include rape, allegedly took place in the Exeter area between 1989 and 1997.

The 68-year-old man, from Exeter, is charged with 29 counts of sexual assault on six girls.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the man was being held in police custody and would appear at Exeter Magistrates' Court on Friday.
