Leisure centre plans are approved

Plans for a new £46.5m leisure centre in Plymouth have been approved by the city council.

Plans for the Life Centre in the city's Central Park include a 10-lane 50m-long swimming pool, a 12-court sports hall and an indoor bowls centre.

The existing Mayflower Leisure Centre and park pool would be demolished and road layouts changed for the centre, the council said.

The Mayflower Centre and Central Park pool were both built in the 1960s.
