A nine-year-old car crash victim had attended a festival beforehand as a "reward" for gaining a music award. Noah Amato, from Hallsands, died when the car he was in left the road near Aveton Gifford on Saturday night. Tomas (TJ) Capewell, 17, from Aveton Gifford and Jamie Baker, 18, from Kingsbridge, were also killed. Noah's mother said he had received a merit for his guitar playing at school and went with the two others to Giffstock in Aveton Gifford. The crash happened at about 2300 BST as the youngsters drove down a steep hill near the village. Their car, a Vauxhall Corsa, veered off the road, overturned and crashed into a wall. All were pronounced dead at the scene.

Noah's mother Clare said Noah had been "justifiably proud" of his first merit for playing guitar at Stokenham Primary School. "Venturing out to a music festival was his intended reward," she said. Noah was one of five children and "lived his brief life to the full", said his parents Carlo and Clare in a statement. "He was a little boy with huge charisma, and a cheeky grin that could win over the most disgruntled parent or teacher. "Noah loved being outdoors and launched himself wholeheartedly into every activity: roaming the beach; fishing; playing rugby, or helping out on the local farm - invariably gathering many new friends along the way. "He was very popular and much-loved for his joy of life." Mark and Athenia Capewell, who run the Fisherman's Rest pub in Aveton Gifford, said they were "devastated" at losing their eldest son, TJ, who helped them in the pub. They said: "He was a very special person, kind caring and loving towards everyone who came into contact with him."
