Swine flu suspected in teachers

Two teachers at a Devon school are being treated for suspected swine flu.

Kelly College, an independent boarding school near Tavistock, said the pair were being treated under the supervision of nursing staff.

A letter has been sent out to parents saying there is no cause for concern but sports fixtures have been affected.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA), which offers advice on how to avoid the disease, said that on 26 June, 88 people in the South West had swine flu.

The HPA region includes Devon and Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset, Avon, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

The number of cases in the UK rose to 4,250.

On 25 June, it was confirmed that 15 students had contracted the H1N1 virus at the University of Exeter.
