New park and ride hospital route

Derriford Hospital
The new hospital route will run at least every 20 minutes

Staff and visitors to Plymouth's main hospital are to get a new bus service from a nearby park-and-ride facility.

The Derriford Hospital link from the George junction Park and Ride, operated by Target Travel, is part of £750,000 of improvements to the A386 site.

The number 60 route will run every eight minutes at peak times and every 20 minutes during the rest of the day. A return ticket will cost £1.20.

The service is to start on 6 July, Plymouth City Council said.

The council has extended the car park at the Tavistock Road site to provide 250 dedicated spaces for NHS staff using the service, as well as an additional 60 spaces for members of the public going to the hospital.
