Boy, 14, injured in pier accident

A teenager has injured his head and an arm while jumping off Ilfracombe pier in Devon.

Coastguards say the 14 year old was with two friends when he leapt off - wrenching his arm and hitting his head on a wall.

They said he was "tombstoning" - jumping from a height into water.

Coastguards say nine people have been killed and 18 seriously injured in the UK while tombstoning in the last two years.

The boy being treated at North Devon District Hospital.
