A man found dead at a Dartmoor property has been named as Andrew Pawlowski, a 52-year-old retained fire fighter from Devon.

He and a 42-year-old woman were discovered with gunshot wounds to the head in the garden of a bungalow in Dousland, near Yelverton, on Thursday.

A number of weapons were found at the murder scene, including three pistols and a rifle.

The dead woman has not yet been formally identified, police said.

Another woman who was nearby at the time of the shootings is being treated as a witness.

Detectives said one bullet round had been found in the garden, the search for a second one had been abandoned.

The dead woman was also a retained firefighter, and the flag at nearby Yelverton fire station is being flown at half mast.

Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
