U-turn on 15-pupil school closure

Sparkwell Primary School
Sparkwell primary school pupil numbers have been shrinking for years

Governors have reversed their decision to close a Devon primary school where pupil numbers are falling.

All Saints Church of England Primary School in Sparkwell, near Plymouth, currently has 15 students and had been due to close in the summer.

But the governors said they had revised their decision after consulting villagers and were now working on a plan to give it a viable future.

Devon County Council and the Diocese of Exeter have also been consulted.
