Road closed after car leaks fuel

A chemical leak closed one of Cornwall's busiest roads for nearly four hours.

The A38 was closed in both directions at the Trerulelfoot roundabout after what police described as "a hazardous chemical incident".

Emergency services were called to the Shell petrol station when a car with a ruptured fuel line began leaking Liquefied Petroleum Gas onto the A38.

An exclusion zone was put in place after a gas cloud blew across the road.

Motorists were diverted from the area while firefighters dealt with the leak.
