Road crashes cause traffic delays

Motorists were caught in long tailbacks after two crashes on a stretch of the A38 in Devon led to lane closures.

Police, fire and ambulance services were called to the scene at Harcombe Bends at about 0645 GMT.

A Mitsubishi L200 pick up truck and a Ford Focus were involved in the first crash which was followed by a collision between a lorry and a Vauxhall Vectra.

No-one is thought to have been badly hurt in the crashes which caused queues up four miles(6.4km) during rush hour.
