Man stabbed in head during attack

A man has been stabbed in the head during an attack by a gang of men in Plymouth.

Police were called to an address in the Lipson area of the city on Monday night where they discovered the victim with serious head injuries.

The man, who is thought to be in his 30s, had been attacked in his home a short distance away by four men.

One man was arrested at the scene and two more were arrested at an address in the Millbridge area of the city.

The trio, who are local and aged 45, 40 and 21, are in custody at Charles Cross Police Station.

The victim was taken to Derriford Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said the area had been cordoned off and blood-stained clothing and knives had been recovered.

Detectives have appealed for anyone with information about the attack, which happened at about 2200 GMT, to contact them.
