Inquiries ongoing into body found

Inquiries are continuing to try to establish the identity of a man whose body was found in bushes in a north Devon town.

The discovery was made in Bear Street in Barnstaple on Wednesday afternoon.

Devon police believe the man may have lain there for a considerable amount of time and are conducting investigations.

Forensic experts have searched the area for leads and tests are being carried out on the body in a bid to try to identify the man.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out by a pathologist at a later date to try to find out how the man died.
