Norovirus bug wards remain closed

Five wards remain shut to visitors at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital because of a winter vomiting bug.

Health chiefs hope one ward will reopen on Thursday after eight were shut amid the outbreak of Norovirus, which causes vomiting and diarrhoea.

Patients due for treatment who have had symptoms, or have been in close contact with someone who has, are asked to contact their hospital for advice.

A ward is shut at Tiverton Hospital and another ward remains closed at Exmouth.
