Cliff fall man fighting for life

A man suffered life-threatening injuries when he slipped and fell down cliffs in Devon.

Emergency services were called to the accident at Oddicombe, Torquay, on Friday afternoon.

The 24-year-old man, who has not been named, is believed to have been out walking near the cliffs with his girlfriend when he slipped and fell.

Paramedics treated him on the beach before taking him to hospital with serious head injuries.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: "Part of the investigation is to establish how this happened.

"The early indication is it was an accident. He suffered a serious head injury believed to be life threatening."

The couple were not thought to be local.
