Two people hurt in bedroom fire

Two people have been injured in a house fire in Torquay, Devon.

The blaze started in a bedroom of the property in Fore Street in the early hours of the morning.

The occupants of the house were taken to hospital to be treated for burns and breathing in smoke. Their condition is not known.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters also rescued two elderly resident from a nearby house.
