Man arrested over sexual assault

Police trying to trace a man in connection with a serious sexual assault in London have arrested someone in Devon.

The Metropolitan force had previously taken the unusual step of releasing a photo of Almogir Rouf Alom, 21.

Officers were investigating an attack in the Tower Hamlets area of the city.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the suspect was arrested in the Barbican area of Plymouth. He has been taken to Charles Cross police station.

Officers from the Met will interview him once he has been transferred to London.
