Tree surgeon injured in 30ft fall

A tree surgeon has been badly injured falling about 30ft (9.1m) out of a tree onto a concrete hard-standing in Devon.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the man, who is believed to be from Plymouth, fell from the tree at Sparkwell at about 1045 BST.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the 40-year-old victim was later taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

The man's condition is described as serious.
