Officers foil illegal rave plans

Police in Devon say they have prevented an illegal rave after officers seized sound equipment.

Additional officers were deployed to East Ogwell where they believed a group of party-goers had planned to gather for the whole Bank Holiday weekend.

Officers were also sent to several other sites across Devon and Cornwall to disrupt illegal gatherings, a spokesman said.

He added that no arrests were made during the operation.

"Amplified sound equipment was seized to prevent serious distress to local residents from those gathered there intent on staying throughout the weekend," the spokesman said.
