Man seriously hurt in wall fall

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after falling from a wall in north Devon.

Emergency services were called to Arcade Road in Ilfracombe just before 0500 BST.

Firefighters had to use ladders and safety equipment to reach the man who had fallen about 15ft (4.5m).

He was secured to a stretcher before being taken to North Devon District Hospital with suspected spinal injuries.
