Three rescued from kitchen fire

Three people had to be rescued from a flat in Plymouth city centre after a kitchen fire on Tuesday night.

Sixteen firefighters were called to the first floor flat in Harwell Street. One was given treatment at the scene for the effects of breathing in smoke.

Three fire engines and an aerial appliance attended the blaze which was extinguished using one hose reel.

The kitchen was damaged by the fire, and the rest of the property was affected by smoke.
