Briton is found drowned in Spain

A British man has drowned in southern Spain, it has been confirmed.

Andrew Piper, 30, from Plymouth, was believed to be on a night out with friends in the holiday resort of Alicante when he died.

A spokesman for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office confirmed the British national had died in the town and his next of kin had been informed.

Mr Piper is believed to have died on Friday night or in the early hours of Saturday.
