Crews fight third-floor flat fire

Firefighters have tackled a blaze in a three-storey building in Devon.

Emergency services were called to the property at Winner Street, Paignton, at about 1540 BST.

The alarm was raised by a community police officer, who saw smoke coming from a third floor flat and went inside to help evacuate the building.

He was given medical treatment after breathing in smoke, but no-one else was injured. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
