Patients moved after water leak

A burst water pipe burst led to the evacuation of a hospital in Cornwall on Wednesday night.

Twelve patients at the Edward Hain Hospital in St Ives were transferred to other hospitals when water started pouring through the ceiling on a ward.

Firefighters, paramedics and ambulance staff helped hospital staff with the evacuation.

The hospital is expected to remain closed for at least a week. Its minor injuries unit is also closed.

The patients were moved to the Helston and Camborne Redruth community hospitals.
