Appeal after third arson attack

A gorse fire in a Cornish village on Sunday is being treated as arson, police have said.

Firefighters used beaters to extinguish the blaze near Black Bottle Rock, Polruan, on Sunday morning.

Devon and Cornwall Police said it was the third suspicious fire in the village since February.

The other two fires were in February and May when outbuildings were deliberately set alight. Police have appealed for witnesses.

A spokesman said: "Luckily no-one has been injured and there has been no great damage to property, however, the potential for huge amounts of damage is very real."

Anyone with information about any of the three fires can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
