More than 300 held over weekend

Devon and Cornwall police say 306 people were arrested in Devon over the weekend.

A female officer was slightly injured at Winkleigh Fair and captor spray had to be used to disperse a small crowd.

Three men were also arrested on Saturday for public order offences after trouble at Kingsbridge Fair.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman it was thought the three men smashed glass bottles and then threatened members of the public with the glass.

Police said at the start of the weekend that they would be cracking down on drink-related disorder and rowdiness in the run-up to the school holidays.
