Cyclist dies after road accident

A cyclist has died after an accident on the A379 in Devon.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident on the Exminster to Dawlish road, outside the Swan's Nest pub at about 1140 BST.

The cyclist, a 23-year-old from Exmouth, was involved in a collision with an MG car. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

The road was closed for several hours. Police have appealed for witnesses to the accident.
